Paul Winer, 91, pharmacist and owner of the former Paul's
Reliable Drugs on First Street, died Saturday, July 24, 1999. Born July 25, 1908, he lived in Duluth for more than 60
years. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He and his wife,
Sara, spent their retirement at Cadotte Lake in Brimson, Minn., and in
Hollywood, Fla. An avid fisherman and hiker, he was a member of the Brimson
Sportsman's Club. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Roher; a grandson,
Jordan Roher; a niece, Nancy Paull; and sisters Ida Gottstein of Minneapolis
and Charlotte Winer of San Diego, Calif. Funeral arrangements were not immediately announced. Duluth News-Tribune (MN) Date: July 25, 1999 Deceased Name: Sara Winer Sara Winer, 83, formerly of Duluth, passed away Sept. 20,
1996, in Hollywood, Fla. A member of the Nurses Army Corps, she achieved the rank
of first lieutenant while serving in the Admiralty Islands during World War
II. As a surgical nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, she also became an
instructor and administrator. After returning to Duluth, Sara worked with her
husband at their pharmacy, Paul's Reliable Drugs, until 1967. During
retirement, she was an active volunteer at a Hollywood elementary school. She will be missed by her husband, Paul Winer of
Hollywood, Fla.; her daughter, Terri Roher, and grandson, Jordan Roher, both
